Hal has over 30 years of management experience in securities operations and technology. He founded The Summit Group in 1991 by consolidating the business activities of BIBLOS Technology, Inc., and Parsec Information Corporation.

Prior to establishing The Summit Group, Hal managed numerous banking and securities functions in a sixteen year Citibank career in New York and Europe, including marketing, operations, and technology. He worked for four years in Zurich as the head of Operations and Technology for Citibank's Swiss Investment and Private Banks, and was the Chief Administrative Officer for Citicorp Investment Bank.

Hal is the Managing Partner of The Summit Group, which was frequently listed by Crain's New York Weekly as one of the Top 25 Management Consulting firms in New York, for the fourth year. TSG, with a staff of over forty professionals, is active in consulting to major banks, brokers and investment managers, and provides comprehensive services in:

• Market Research
• Systems Integration

TSG specializes in helping firms plan and manage the implementation of IT-based solutions; and provides the Documentation, Testing and Training actions that are required with new applications. Current clients include major securities firms such as Citigroup, Fiduciary Trust, Fidelity, BNY Mellon, and Franklin Templeton.

A subsidiary of The Summit Group, Securities Operations Forum, is a leading supplier of educational services to the securities industry. SOF conducts open enrollment and customized training classes for over 2,000 people each year throughout the US on processing topics such as Derivatives, Corporate Actions, Reconciliations, etc. In conjunction with ISITC, SOF developed a series of eLearning classes and a credential program, the Securities Industry Professional (SIP).

Hal has a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology from Miami University, an MBA from Southern Illinois University, and was an officer in the USAF. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and he has been a guest lecturer at Seton Hall University, Wharton and UMass. Hal is frequently quoted in various industry publications, and is a regular speaker at major securities industry conferences around the world. He is on the Finance Advisory Board of Seton Hall University, and is the co-chair of the ISITC Marketing Committee.

Hal has written three books for the securities industry: How the US Securities Industry Works, the Securities Operations Glossary, and Software Testing for Financial Services Firms; and has edited a fourth book, Straight Through Processing for Financial Services Firms.
